Africa is the second largest continent in the world, coming in after the Asian continent. The continent of Africa spans about 11.6 million square miles and is home to about 1.3 billion people — the second largest population in the world (3).

With 54 countries and 9 territories ranging in size and population density, the past few years has seen Africa’s steady transition from the margins of the global market to the mainstream. With foreign investors taking a renewed interest in the resources and untapped markets of these diverse countries, technology is beginning to play a significant role in the continents future. (1). And these are the top companies securing Africa’s technological future.

1) BitMEX

BitMEX is a P2P cypto-coin trading platform. The company recently announced that they will be working with the South African based, Exonumia to offer translation services for Bitcoin content into some key African languages.(2).

2) Augmenta Cyber Security

The Botswana based cybersecurity company, Augmenta Cyber Security, promises to be the “first line of defense against emerging cyber threats” for their customers. The company offers DDoS simulation, Advanced Pen Testing, Security Architecture and SOC Consultation.

3) Tactical Intelligence Security Ltd.

The Ghana-based managed cyber intelligence company, TAISE uses big data to hunt threats. The company offers tools and guidance to protect their clients against an ever evolving cyber world.

4) Tabiri Analytics

Tabiri Analytics is a company that provides “affordable” cybersecurity monitoring services to underserved markets. The company works with in-house IT staff and outsourced IT services to assess, continuously monitor and improve the security posture of their clients. Currently, Tabiri Analytics operates out of the US, Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda.

The francophone, Moroccan-based cybersecurity company, Logiskay offers premier security services to their clients. The company provides services such as the Kasper endpoint malware protection software for businesses.
